Mission

Support and Training

Jan. 2009 Our institute was founded to support people — from young children to older adults — who are facing challenges, whether mental or physical. In the years since, our work has grown and evolved as we have responded to the changing needs around us, wearing many hats along the way: certified public psychologist and speech-language-hearing therapist, business manager, and educator. That has meant serving on committees for government agencies, helping new organizations get off the ground, and teaching in the healthcare and welfare fields. Today our work spans a wide variety of areas, centered on advisory services in welfare, education, and public administration; professional development in both clinical and educational settings; and higher education, where we serve as practitioner-faculty at universities and vocational colleges. We hope to keep walking alongside the organizations, teachers, and students who take on new challenges every day — learning together and welcoming the changes that come our way. Let's gather up small ideas and small actions, one by one, and turn them into something new.
